BENEFITS SCHEDULE
The following is an outline of Local 97 Ironworkers Health & Welfare Plan Benefits. They are always subject to review by the Board of Trustees and can and will be changed when it is deemed necessary by the Trustees in order to protect the future viability of the Plan.
Medical Plan
Medical Plan (Group No. 4823381): As provided by MSP (Medical Services Plan of British Columbia)
Group Life Insurance
Coverage Amount: $100,000*
*Note: All active Members between the ages of 60 and 65 will be covered for $100,000 of Life Insurance. Members between the ages of 60 and 65, who are not active but are covered for benefits, will continue to be covered for $50,000 of Life Insurance. Upon attaining age 65, all Members’ Life Insurance reduces to $10,000 and upon attaining age 70, the Life Insurance further reduces to $5,000.
Accidental Death & Dismemberment
All Eligible Active Members under Age 65 : $100,000
Self-Paying Members Aged 60-64 : $50,000
All Eligible Members Aged 65-69 : $10,000
All Eligible Members Aged 70+ : $5,000
Weekly Indemnity (per week)
Coverage Amount: Equal to the EI Sickness Weekly Benefit Level
Long Term Disability (per month)
Coverage Amount: $1,400
Employee Assistance Program
Confidential counseling services for the Member and eligible dependents.
Coverage Amount: as described in Employee/Family Assistance Program
Extended Health Care
Coverage Amount: as described in Extended Health Care
Out of Canada Emergency Coverage
Coverage Amount: $5 Million maximum per coverage period
Vision Care (Eye glasses/contacts/laser eye surgery)
Coverage Amount: as described in Vision Care
Dental Care
Coverage Amount: as described in Dental
Transportation Assistance
Coverage Amount: Up to a maximum of 75% of the amount equal to the round trip commercial economy class airfare
